TipwaTipwa Trekkers typically do day hikes, which range between easy, moderate and difficult. We inform you of the type of hike to expect beforehand. We also offer occasional overnight hikes where you get to trek by day and camp at night to bond a little longer. Just a note, adverse weather can negatively affect hiking conditions, so always come prepared for setbacks when this happens - nothing but fun times though; and we always make decisions based on safety first.

Yes. In a given year we may climb up to three mountains preceded by a training plan, ranging from 2-3 months and depending on fitness levels and experience. These mountains may include Mt Kenya, Mt Kilimanjaro, Mt Elgon, Mt Meru and the Rwenzori Mountains. We continue to explore new destinations to add to our big mountain experience.

For swimming, you should bring your own swimsuit, goggles, and towel. Additionally, a kickboard, pull buoy, paddles and flippers are recommended to fully benefit from the swim drills.
For cycling, if you don’t have your own bicycle, we can recommend where to rent one and a helmet for the day. A helmet, riding glasses, riding gloves and sturdy non-slip sneakers, as well as some padded riding shorts topped off with a moisture wicking cycling jersey or t-shirt and a light windproof jacket, will ensure you have a comfortable ride. Dress brightly for visibility.
On the bike, it is recommended that you acquire front and rear lights, for added safety.
Our non-negotiable rule is no helmet, no ride; and always remember to bring along your hydration and fueling, to sustain your energy levels during the ride.

No worries. We partner with instructors that can teach you how to ride a bicycle from scratch and eventually gain confidence to ride safely, and over longer distances.

We have a monthly group bike ride on the third Saturday of each month and starts at 7am from Lavington Green, otherwise known as Lavington Mall. Mountain bikes and road bikes are welcome.

The event comprises 5, 10, 15, 25 and 30 km distances for the run, or a 40km bike ride. This is followed by breakfast at the location, where we regale each other with how we experienced said run and much more. A good fun getaway for you, family and friends.
